Comic Book Wednesday 05/16/2007

Well I tried to do this a few weeks ago, but the first comic I did seemed to turn into a synopsis of the Marvel Universe.

So I am going to do these comics a different way. I am going to give the title, the number, writer, artist, synopsis of the story (From comics website) and what I think of it. I am also going to list series I am not going to purchase anymore and why.

So anyway, here we go:

Fallen Son: The Death Of Captain America
Publisher: Marvel
Issue: 3 of 5
Writer: Jeph Loeb
Artist: John Romita, Jr.
Story:
"How has the fall-out of Civil War affected Captain America? One side won
and the other side lost – but the aftermath may have hit some heroes harder than
others. Now it’s time to navigate this turbulent new landscape with the
shield-slinging Super Soldier – and your guides are none other than Jeph Loeb
and John Romita Jr. "
Loeb has stated that these 5 issues will follow the 5 stages of grief. The first, Denial, had Wolverine not believing that Cap was dead and was a great issue.

The second, Anger, featured the Mighty Avengers and New Avengers. (The Mighty Avengers are registered heros...The New Avengers are outlaws because they have not registered...this is all detailed in the Civil War that finished earlier this year). The Mighty Avengers were fighting some villian, while the New Avengers were playing cards with The Thing and getting into arguments about Cap. The second issue was not as good as the first.

My hope was that this mini-series was not losing steam...and I am glad to say it is not. The third, Bargaining, has Clint Barton, the original Hawkeye back from the dead. Iron Man wants Clint to be the new Captain America because because Tony Stark believes that America needs Cap especially now.

The art work by Romita is great, as has been in the past 2 issues. The story was great. Barton contemplating becomeing Cap's replacement, but wondering if he should shame Caps memory. Barton's confrontation with the new female Hawkeye. Tony being confronted by Barton about the real reason why he wants Captain America to continue on. All great stuff.

The next issue, Depression, will feature Spider-man and how he copes with Cap's death and him reflecting on all the people he has lost in his life. Hope Loeb does just a great a job with that one as he did here.

All-Star Batman & Robin The Boy Wonder
Publisher: DC
Issue: 5
Writer: Frank Miller
Artist: Jim Lee

Story:
"The pulse-pounding adventure continues with the All Star creative team of
Frank Miller, Jim Lee and Scott Williams! The Batman puts Dick Grayson to the
ultimate test, and the orphaned aerialist must make a difficult choice before
becoming Robin, the Boy Wonder!"
Dear Lord, they actually put out issue #5?!? The last issue, #4, came out last Sept or Oct. So you figure that all that wait would be worth it...that we should have an awesome story? Well...not so much.

We start with Wonder Woman meeting Superman, Green Latern and Plastic Man to discuss what to do with Batman (The press is stating that he kidnapped a boy, but really he was rescuing Dick Grayson). Miller writes Wonder Woman as a feminist who just hates men. She wants to take down Batman...permanetly, but Supes, Greens and Plastic think they should talk to him first. Meanwhile, Batman goes out in Gotham and beats the hell out of two rapist punks, Alfred has some time to think about Bruce and his hope he does not go crazy and Grayson is in the Batcave checking things out.

Sorry, but I just expected...more for a 8-9 month wait. I am a big fan of Jim Lee's work and it shines here. I like Miller's writing as well, but he just seems to make these charactors ass----s. I understand this is before these heros have a bond with each other...they are just starting the Justice League, but Miller can write these charactors to be down right depressing. Still, this is a good story...just expected more after the long hiatis. Next issue is in July so will not have to wait long.

World War Hulk: Prologue
Publisher: Marvel
Issue: 1 (One-Shot)

Writer: Peter David, Chris Giarrusso, and Greg Pak
Artist: Al Rio, Lee Weeks, Sean Phillips, Chris Giarrusso and Takeshi MiYazawa
Story:
"Hulk is coming and no power on Earth can stop him from getting revenge on
the Illuminati! What events have led up to the super-human
battle-to-end-all-battles? As Hulk’s great stone ship approaches the planet, he
prepares for the war on the horizon by reliving past conflicts with Iron Man,
The Fantastic Four, Doctor Strange and the Inhumans. This is the perfect
jumping-on point for this summer’s super hero-smashing, city-leveling,
bone-crushing, Marvel history-making event! "

Yea...You read the above and you say "What is the Illuminati?" "What battle to end all battles?"and "How the hell did the Hulk get a great stone spaceship?" Well, I will be brief.

The Illuminati is a group of heroes (Iron Man, Mr. Fantastic, Black Bolt, Namor, Dr. Strange, and Professor X) that got together years ago to "worked together for an unspecified amount of time to mold and shape the status of the superhuman world and the world around it." Soon, they would meet secretly to share infomration and determine how each of the members groups would react.

Well, the Illuminiati decided that the Hulk was too dangerous to be on earth. So they tricked Bruce Banner to become the Hulk to fix a satellite in space. The Illuminati revealed their true plan to the Hulk and exiled him to a planet...but not the one they intended.

Instead the Hulk fell on a world, were he was weakened and enslaved. He would turn out to be a hero and rule the planet eventually, with his new allies he made along the way to overthrow the evil king there. He married and was expecting a child. Everything was good.

However, the Illuminiati set an explosive in the spacecraft that the Hulk traveled on and it detonated causing a chain of events that devistated the planet and killed the Hulks new wife and unborn child. With his new allies, the Hulk is returning for revenge against the Illuminiati.

Ya all caught up...good...here is the comic. There are actually three stories here. The first by David is great. The Hulk and his companions are on there way to earth while Doc Sampson and She-Hulk on Earth talking about the Hulk. The Hulk is convinced by Hiroim, one of his allies, to meditate so he can focus his anger. The story goes back and forth from the Hulk and Doc Sampson. Each describing how members of the Illuminati interacted with the Hulk. Sampson tells She-Hulk that the members tried to help the Hulk, while the Hulk's memories are far different. The story just leaves you wanting more....I am very excited about this event.

The next story is a parady by Giarrusso about how the Illiminati (not Illuminators) decide to get rid of the Hulk. Namor is the only one who does not want to send him into space, until the Hulk does something unforgivable. I found the story humerous.

Finally, a reprint of a story from Amazing Fantasy Vol. 2 #15. This is about Amadeus, who is the seventh smartest person on the planet. Amadeus went to see Reed Richards to tell him he knows what he did to the Hulk and that the ship did not go to the destination they originally intended. He is getting heroes together for the Hulk's eventual return to help the Hulk. Why is Amadeus supportive of the Hulk? This story tells it.

As I stated earier, this issue is making me excited about the World War Hulk storyline. Just a few more weeks an the chaos begins... I cannot wait.

Marvel Zombies: Dead Days
Publisher: Marvel
Issue: 1 (One-Shot)
Writer: Robert Kirkman

Artist: Sean Phillips
Story:
"At last—witness the birth of the Marvel Zombies as told by the creative team of
the best-selling limited series! Kirkman and Phillips pull out all the stops as
they reveal the secret story of the day the Marvel Heroes became brain-eating
monsters! Want to see the Avengers eat Jarvis? You won’t get that in this
month’s New Avengers, effendi!"

Some people are saying that the whole Marvel Zombie thing is getting old fast. They say it was a cool concept...Marvel Heroes turning into zombies...eating the flesh. I am reading the Army of Darkness/Marvel Zombie tie-in (which I will write about when the next issue comes out) and like the idea of Ash meeting up with Spider-man and fighting zombified heroes.

Anyway, back to the this story. The story tells how the Marvel Zombies became what they are. You kinda have to read the Army of Darkness/Marvel Zombies to clear up a few things as the Avengers here are already turned and Spider-Man is on his way (Mary Jane never tasted so good!).

However, we do learn and see a few things that were not shown in the original limited series last year. Spider-Man feasting on MJ and Aunt May...Henry Pym locking up the Black Panther and eating him a little at a time so he can think straight and come up with a cure...The Avengers eating Jarvis...and a turn of events from Reed Richards that is just f---ed up.

A very entertaining story and fills in the gaps from the limited series last year. So has this series run its course. Not just yet, but after this and the Army of Darkness tie in, I think Marvel should let this go for a while.

COMICS I AM DROPPING:

Moon Knight
Publisher: Marvel

Sorry I cannot buy this anymore. The art work is ok, but the writing is getting on my nerves. Whoever is putting this comic together...please edit together so the reader can actually know what panel to read first. It is very annoying.

Last issue pissed me off because on the cover was Moon Knight and the Punisher. I was expecting a throw down and what do I get...Midnight threating Moon Knight to find him and the Punisher on the last panel. GUYS...YOU DO NOT PUT THE PUNISHER ON THE COVER AND HAVE HIM ON THE LAST PANEL ONLY.

This issue, they put Midnight on the cover and show him in the last few panels. These covers should be the other way around.

And the Punisher is in this issue, but they just talk as the Punisher is on a roof top taking out gang member.

People say that Moon Knight is a poor mans Batman. I like Moon Knight. I was excited when they started his own series again. But after 10 issues, I am done.

Star Wars: Rebellion
Publisher: Dark Horse Comics

Just could not get into this one. I am marginally enjoying Knights of the Old Republic comic and that is on the bubble. I just could not get into Rebellion. It is ok, but hey...with comics going for $3.00 a pop...if it does not get me in the first 6 issues, it has to go. I may pick this up again in the future, but for now it is out.

Well, that is it for this week. I have more, but I have things I need to do. My plan is to do all the comics I get every week, but that may not happen because of my schedule. I may have to a few that I like or I really dislike.

Thanks for reading.

Free Paris (Seriously...you cannot make this up)

As you probably know already, Paris Hilton is going to jail for 45 days.

Now she deserves to go to jail. She did not do as the courts suggested.

However, there is a website that is petioning to have Arnold Schwarzenegger to have her freed (http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/PH21781/):

"Paris Whitney Hilton is an American celebrity and socialite. She is an
heiress to a share of the Hilton Hotel fortune, as well as to the real estate
fortune of her father Richard Hilton. She provides hope for young people all
over the U.S. and the world. She provides beauty and excitement to (most of) our
otherwise mundane lives.

Hilton is notable for her leading roles on the FOX reality series The
Simple Life and in the remake of the Vincent Price horror classic "House of
Wax". In addition to her work as an actress, she has achieved some recognition
as a model, celebrity spokesperson, singer, and writer.

As most of America now knows, Ms. Hilton was just charged in a Los Angeles
court with DUI and sentenced to 45 days in Century Regional Detention Facility
in California beginning on or before June 5, 2007. "

They are kidding, right? Sorry but she is famous because of an amature porn flick that an ex-boyfriend put on the internet. She is famous for the sake of being famous. Nothing more.

"We, the American public who support Paris, are shocked, dismayed and
appalled by how Paris has been the person to be used as an example that Drunk
Driving is wrong. We do not support drunk driving or DUI charges. Paris should
have been sober. But she shouldn't go to jail, either.

As depicted on Friday night's episode "Nancy Grace" on Headline News (May
4, 2007), countless celebrities have been "slapped on the wrist" for similar
incidents recently. Nick Nolte, Mel Gibson, Tracy Morgan, Wynonna Judd, to name
a few, were arrested and never did a day in jail after their initial arrests for
drunk driving /DUI /DWI charges. Rappers Busta Rhymes and Eve still walk free
after both being arrested for the same charges as Ms. Hilton just this past
week. Brandy's California Highway accident, although no proof of DUI was
evidenced in her accident, resulting in the death of a young wife and mother in
California, yet Brandy walks free as of today, never doing any time and A WOMAN
HAS BEEN KILLED most likely due to her reckless driving!

Yet, Paris Hilton did not hurt, injure, or kill anyone or anything, and yet
she must do jail time. "

The person who wrote this petion, does not know what he is talking about. All these people he mentioned did not get arrested...but SO DID SHE. Remember, she got jail time for violating the terms of the first time she got pulled over for drunk driving, not for drunk driving itself. Furthermore, she did not take it seriously. She can make all the excuses she wants (Other people open my letters...I just sign the documents, I don't read the actual documents).

In short...she got a pass and she screwed it up....and as bringing up Brandy....WTF has this have to do with drunk driving??? The guy makes the post that although now proof of DUI was involved...so why bring this up???

"This petition is to ask Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to pardon Paris
Hilton for her mistake. Please allow her to her return to her career and life.
Everyone makes mistakes. She didn't hurt or kill anyone, and she has learned her
lesson. She is sincere, apologetic, and full of regret for her actions as she
explained tearfully to the Judge handling her case in court yesterday. She is
distraught and understandably afraid. WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT to save our Paris
from ending up at the Century Regional Detention Facility!

Please sign to tell The Honorable Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger of the
State of California, to think about the welfare of this young woman who has made
a mortal error and deserves a second chance like so many others in our great
nation have been served with after a mistake they have made . If the late Former
President Gerald Ford could find it in his heart to pardon the late Former
President Richard Nixon after his mistake(s), we undeniably support Paris Hilton
being pardoned for her honest mistake as well, and we hope and expect The
Governor will understand and grant this unusual but important request in good
faith to Ms. Paris Whitney Hilton."

Damn...she is going to jail for 45 days, for Christ Sakes...she is not walking down death row. Again, she had a second chance and she blew it.

God...this guy makes her sound like a saint. It is just funny that so many people feel sorry for her and feels she needs a second chance, when she already did.

I believe Hilton believed she could get away with this because of who she is. The judge did not buy it and she deserves the jail time.

Bush and the 'Mission Accomplished' speech

Yesterday was the fourth anniversity of Bush's Misson Accomplished speech he made on an aircraft carrier.

Seems every article I read about this yesterday pointed to the fact that we did not accomplish our mission and that Bush should be ashamed of himself.

Yes, it was a political stunt and I beleive Bush should not have done this. He pretty much set himself up for this kind of backlash.

However, at the time the main part of the war was over. We did accomplish part of the mission, just not the whole things. We did take Bagdad. Saddam was ousted, but not captured.

People seem to forget this today with all that is going on now. We did, in a matter of weeks, take Bagdad and Iraq. However, we were far from done.

I understand Bush wanting to boast about the victory. I am sure Bush thought that it would be smooth sailing from there on out. However, even I knew that there was going to be issues. I knew that there would be fighting among the Sunni and other factions. I knew Iran and Syria would be a problem, possible sending troops and military equipment to prevent us from truly accomplishing our mission.

To me, this is not just a war in Iraq, this is a War on Terror. More and more people are forgetting that because of the bad decisions made by Bush and his administration.

When Bush said Mission Accomplished, I am certain he was talking about taking Iraq and preparing a new government. But, in his rush to stage a political stunt, Bush did not realize that there was more to be done. Bush was unprepared for what would happen next in Iraq and that seems to be the problem for this administration with everything these days.

But what really happened?

Communters in Oakland, California are going to have a commuting problem Monday morning:

A gasoline tanker crashed and burst into flames near the San
Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge on Sunday, creating such intense heat that a
stretch of highway melted and collapsed. Officials predicted a traffic nightmare
for Bay Area commuters for weeks or months to come.

Flames shot 200 feet in the air, but the truck's driver walked away from
the scene with second-degree burns.

No other injuries were reported in the 3:45 a.m. crash, which officials
said could have been deadly had it occurred at a busier time.

Interesting, no one was injured? The road just fell apart? Come on. You know what really happened.

This was Bush's doing. He arranged this to happen so that he could deflect what was happening in Iraq.

Jesus people open your eyes. How can a gas fire melt the road and make it collapse?BUSH=HITLER. HALBURTON!!! HALBURTON!!!!*****

*****This message brought to you by Charlie Sheen, Rosie ODonnall and all the other idiots who believe 9/11 was caused by the government.

Another shooting in a public place.

This time, it was at a Kansas City shopping center(http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/04/29/mall.shooter/index.html).

The police shot and killed him, but I just wish they would take these guys alive. As much as I could give a rat's ass for them, I would like them to live just to see the pain they caused others. And once they are found gulity...fry the son-of-a-bitch.

Comic Book Wednesday 04/25/2007 Part 1

Every Wednesday the new comic books come out. As I stated before, I read my brothers comics back in the 80's and started reading them about 2 years ago.

So I figured I would review the comics I buy. Now the comics I buy are mostly Marvel, but I do by others as well. Also, some of these reviews may be a little longer at first. This is due to explaining events that have happened in the Marvel Universe so the reviews make a little more sense. So with out further delay....

Silent War - Issue 4 of 6
Publisher: Marvel
The silent war continues between the Inhumans and Earth. First a little backgound about the Inhumans. The Inhumans are a race that live on Attilan, which is located at the Blue Area of the Moon. They were created long ago when the Kree began doing experiments on humans.

The Inhumans use the Terrigen Mists to give them power. However, the Terrigen Mists can deform the person inhaling the mists, therefore the Inhumans make sure to carefully select canidates to negate the effects.

An event occured recently called the House of M. Magneto daughter, the Scarlet Witch, desimated the Avenger. Magneto, Doctor Strange, and Professor X took the Scarlet Witch to Genosha to try to cure her of her madness. Quicksilver, the son of Magneto and brother of the Scarlet Witch, beleived that Magneto would kill her because they could not repair her mind.

Suddenly, Professor X disappeared and there was a white light and the world was replaced by a society ruled by the House of M, with humans being the minority and mutants ruling. Only a few knew the truth - S.H.E.I.L.D, Wolverine and a woman named Layla Miller. Together they stormed the House Of M to stop who they thought caused this event - Magneto. However, they shortly found out that Magento was not the one responsible, but instead it was Quicksilver who convinced the Scarlet Witch to change reality.

Magneto, enranged that his son would perform such an autrosity, killed Quicksilver. However, the Scarlet Witch distraught, resurrected Quicksilver and denounced Magneto and claimed all mutants were freaks. Go silent, she wispered "No more mutants". Again the world went white and the world was back to normal, with no one remembering the House of M and the most of the mutant population losing their powers, including Magneto and Quicksilver. Only 198 mutants now exist.

Quicksilver, powerless, made his way to Attilan. Quicksilver is married to Crystal, one of the Inhumans. He thought he could get his powers back by using the Terrigen Mist, but Black Bolt, leader of the Inhumans refused. Quicksilver stole the mist, which gave him back his powers and he returned to Earth with his daughter to give the mutant population back their powers.

Quicksilver offered other former mutant to inhale the Terrigen Mists and these mutants did get their powers back, temporarily. However, the Terrigne Mists altered their powers in the worst way. The Inhumans came to Earth to get the Terrigen Mists back from Quicksilver, only to find the US military had retrieved the mists and refused to give them back to the Inhumans. Medusa, the wife of Black Bolt, told the military that her husband would give them his response. The leader of the military noticed that the Inhumans were leaving except Black Bolt and then realized what Medusa said "My husband will give you his response". The military leader quickly told his troops to move out quickly. See Black Bolt's power is his voice. Just a slight whisper is enough to destroy a city. Black Bolt wispered only one word--"War".

This is where the Silent War comes into play...and now you have the background, on to the reveiw.

In the last issue, Quicksilver was confronted by the Inhumans, including his wife and daughter. Quicksilver retained some shards of the Terrigen crystals and inserted them into his skin so he could continue to heal mutants who lost their powers. Enranged, Black Bolt began a fight with Quicksilver, only to leave him alone after they found out he did not have the crystals.

This issue, Medusa has seeked counsil with Black Bolts brother, who has been jailed for life because his powers can not be controlled. During this meeting, Black Bolt's brother manipulates Medusa into kissing him. He does this because he knows Black Bolt is watching. Black Bolt leaves in anger.

S.H.E.I.L.D. learns how the Terrigen Mists affects humans and Black Bolt makes a major decision on how to proceed with the war on Earth.

Writer David Hine does a great job in the writing with this comic. The last issue I was not really impressed with, but the action and drama picks up in this issue.

The artwork is ok in this issue, as in the other issues. The artwork does work, but I am not a big fan of this artist., Frazer Irving. I did enjoy the panels where Black Bolt flies out in anger after witnessing Medusa with his brother. It is about 12 panels of Black Bolt and you see the anger and sadness in his face.

Marvel seems to do these limited series very well. The last panel of the comic tells of things to come. I just hope the conclusion is not a let down.

Whew....that is about it tonight...the background was longer than the review. As I stated before, there is alot of history to the Marvel Universe. I think the background is needed so you know what is going on. The next review Iwill not be as detailed.

Anyway, I will continue with my other comic reviews tommorow...I am tired right now.

"...and if you inhale and exhale pure righteousness, my olfactories are keen to the smell of s%!#"

Last weekend at at the White House Correspondents Assiciation Dinner, Laruie David, producer of "An Inconvenient Truth" and Sheryl Crow approached Karl Rove about the issue of global warming and there was a heated debate. From the Washington Post article:

"News of the dust-up filtered quickly through the room. Some witnesses said David was very aggressive with Rove; a shaken Crow later said that Rove was "combative and unresponsive.""

You can read the whole article at http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/04/22/AR2007042200353.html

Now I can believe both parties got into a heated argument. When you have David and Crowe confront Rove at a dinner and start a debate about global warming, there are bound to be some fireworks.

However, how David and Crow describe the event, Rove is just an evil son of a bitch and David and Crow just went over there to have a nice talk.

This is from a blog from Huttington Post site by David and Crow(http://www.huffingtonpost.com/laurie-david-and-sheryl-crow/karl-rove-gets-thrown-und_b_46501.html):

"Last night Thelma and Louise drove the bus off the cliff or at least into the White House Correspondents Dinner. The "highlight" of the evening had to be when we were introduced to Karl Rove. How excited were we to have our first opportunity ever to talk directly to the Bush Administration about global warming."

Hmm...they were introduced...The article says they "walked over to Table 92 at the Hilton Washington to chat with Karl Rove". And I am sure they were excited to make their feelings known. I think they wanted to demand change and not talk, but I digress.
"We asked Mr. Rove if he would consider taking a fresh look at the science of global warming. Much to our dismay, he immediately got combative. And it went downhill from there."

And I am sure they were just that polite about the subject. I am sure David made a statement like "Kind sir, could you please take a fresh look at the global warming issue?" and with that Rove got combative. I think there was more to the dicussion than asking to take a fresh look.

"We reminded the senior White House advisor that the US leads the world in
global warming pollution and we are doing the least about it. Anger flaring, Mr.
Rove immediately regurgitated the official Administration position on global
warming which is that the US spends more on researching the causes than any
other country."

Notice how again David and Crow are so polite, but Rove's response was in anger. David also uses the negative word 'regurgitated' for Rove's response. David and Crowe told Rove the US leads the world in global warming pollution. Rove, who has probably heard this over and over again, told them the US spends more on research than any other country. While David and Crowe paint themselfs as polite, Rove was an ass with his response.

"We felt compelled to remind him that the research is done and the results are
in (www.IPCC.ch). Mr. Rove exploded with even
more venom. Like a spoiled child throwing a tantrum, Mr. Rove launched into a
series of illogical arguments regarding China not doing enough thus neither
should we. (Since when do we follow China's lead?)"

Again, notice how David and Crowe are so nice and civil, yet Rove is irrational and acting like a raving lunatic.

The argument about China is not illogical. I am only assuming the argument that Rove brought up, but David and Crowe probably brought up the Kyoto Protocal, which is not signed by the US, to control emmission and help stop global warming. The reason the US did not sign it was because third world countries or developing countries were exempt, including China, India and a host of others.

Furthemore, "the International Energy Agency predicted that China would surpass the United States as the largest contributor of CO2 by 2009" (http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/04/20/opinion/main2710678.shtml).

Besides all that, "scientists warn that for the world to have a fight chance...emissions will have to be reduced by as much as 70 percent....the Kyoto Protocol...currently calls for only a 5.5 percent reduction from 1990 levels..." (http://www.conservationbiology.org/CIP/article72get.cfm).

So the China issue is not irrational. And the last part which says when do we follow China...a red herring...this has nothing to do with the issue. David and Crowe throw that in there to have you believe that Rove is somehow taking a lead from China and they do not understand that. We are not taking a lead from China...We want China to comply as well. The whole world has to contribute, not just the US.

"In his attempt to dismiss us, Mr. Rove turned to head toward his table, but
as soon as he did so, Sheryl reached out to touch his arm. Karl swung around and
spat, "Don't touch me." How hardened and removed from reality must a person be
to refuse to be touched by Sheryl Crow? Unfazed, Sheryl abruptly responded, "You
can't speak to us like that, you work for us." Karl then quipped, "I don't work
for you, I work for the American people." To which Sheryl promptly reminded him,
"We are the American people.""

Have you ever been in a heated argument? During this argument if one of your opponents touches you, would you not tell the person not to touch you? I know I would...and have.

And who is Crowe, the second coming of Christ? Jesus...Crowe went out to touch him and Rove said "Don't touch me". David and Crowe would make you want to believe that anyone that does not want to be touched by Crowe is has a heart of stone. Give me a break.

And then Crowe saying Rove cannot speak to her like that. What right does she have to talk to Rove like that. Just because Rove works for the people does not mean she has the right to be rude...oh wait a minute...thats right...David and Crowe are the victims of this...they are so nice and Rove is so evil...for a minute there I forgot.

"At that point Mr. Rove apparently decided he had had enough. Like a
groundhog fearful of his own shadow, he scurried to his table in an attempt to
hibernate for another year from his responsibility to address global warming.
Drama aside, you would expect as an American citizen to be able to engage in a
civil discussion with a public official. Instead, Mr. Rove was dismissive,
condescending, and quite frankly a bully."

Again...it is Rove that was not civil...David and Crowe were perfectly civil. Of course he had enough. He had nothing more to say. David and Crowe had their view...Rove has his...he probably walked away because he felt he was being attacked. Could that be the reason? No...not according to David and Crowe...he should talk to them because they are the all knowing...Al Gore told them everything about global warming so they must be right. Anyone who does not believe them must be dismissive.

"Ultimately, we were left wondering what on Earth Mr. Rove was talking about
when he said "the American people." If more than 60% of American voters, the
Supreme Court, over 400 cities, the US National Academy of Sciences, numerous
major US corporations, and others don't constitute the American people, then
what does? The truth is, if this administration cared one iota about the
American people, they would have addressed this problem long ago, and the sad
reality is that this problem has been left to us, all of us, since the current
administration has abandoned this issue entirely. In the absence of true
leadership, we must guide ourselves. We can solve this, but we had better act
fast."

I think what he meant by "the American people" was I just do not work for Crowe when she made the remark "you work for me". Can you imagine if you went up to a police officer giving you a ticket and you said "Hey buddy, you work for me...I aint going to take that ticket" Well Crowe, he works for me too and I agree with Rove...do I not have a say or is it just you and David?

As for the stats, i got these stats from a Time survey (http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1176967,00.html). They are all over the map, but they generally correspond with the stats David and Crowe listed.

Finally, David and Crowe end with the typical "Bush does not care" and they have not addressed the problem. I am surprised they did not write Bush=Hilter or invoke Halliburton in there for good measure. Rove does not agree with us, therefore they do not care about the enviroment. (Rolls eyes).

The point to all this...I do not think David and Crowe were as nice as they let on to believe. Don't get me wrong...I believe the argument was heated on both sides and tempers flared...on both sides.

However, I do not believe that David and Crowe were just perfect angels in this. I believe they instigated this arugment by approaching Rove. Rove thought he was being attacked, which I would belive in his position as well.

We will probably never know how each party behaved, but in my opinion, David and Crowe were just as nasty and rude as they make Rove out to be.
